The role
This is a newly created position, built to give the Director of Technology real operational relief and to give the right person genuine ownership of a growing team. You'll lead six technical professionals across building services, coordinate all trades on site, and act as deputy for the Director during absences. Hands-on and strategic in equal measure.
Your responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and schedule a 6-person technical building management team
- Ensure operational safety and full functionality of all building systems on site
- Coordinate all building technology trades: HVAC, MSR/automation, construction, and more
- Monitor and enforce all maintenance, inspection, and compliance deadlines
- Plan and execute projects independently and together with your team
- Deputy for the Director of Technology & Indirect Procurement when needed
What you bring
Must-haves:
- 5+ years of experience in building services with cross-trade knowledge (HVAC, MSR, etc.)
- Proven people leadership experience and a hands-on mindset
- Solid project management capabilities
- Fluent German (C1) — required for this role
Nice-to-haves:
- GMP or hygienic industry experience (pharma, food, chemicals)
- Degree in supply, building, or electrical engineering — or a completed technical apprenticeship plus Technician/Master certification
- Familiarity with building management systems and MS Office
Not a fit if:
- No practical Gebäudetechnik background
- Unwilling to work on-site and hands-on
- Difficulty with regulated documentation and compliance processes
